The majority of the living space, bedrooms and bathrooms are located on the ground floor of The Annexe, where you will find our open plan kitchen/diner and lounge. The wooden kitchen was handmade by a joiner from the island and is fully equipped with all the essentials you’d expect from us. The stunning copper dining table and chairs has one of the best backdrops to enjoy your meals, with large floor to ceiling patio doors offering views out into the garden, beach and sea beyond.
In the lounge we have enough seating for six and also provide a contemporary log burner for those cooler evenings along with a smart TV. The Totter and Tumble floor mat in the lounge is perfect for babies to roll around and play on, as its padded and waterproof, and designed with children in mind.
Also, on the ground floor we have the master bedroom with king bed and fitted wardrobes and dressing table. The ground floor is also home to a full bathroom, with shower over bath, w/c and basin. Finally on this floor, you will find the second lounge with smart TV, swing seat to admire the views, bi-fold doors out onto the driveway and a sofa which can be made up to a king size bed, if required for six guests staying.
Off from the second lounge we have a utility room with sink and washer/dryer.
Up the narrow stairs and into the eaves of The Annexe, we have a cosy mezzanine which is home to a double bed, dressing table and also benefits from its own shower room, with amazing views out to sea.
Outside on the decking we have two lounging chairs and footstools, two bucket chairs and two sun loungers. Located in the garden, we have a Weber gas BBQ for the warmer months and private access down to the beach.
There is room for 2-3 cars outside the main house (same for The Annexe).
The famous Anglesey coastal path runs behind the house and so can be accessed in just a few seconds. Church Bay, with the famous Lobster Pot and Wavecrest café are just a short 20 minute walk to reach and The Church Bay Inn pub is approx. 30 minute walk from the house. In the village of Llanfaethlu you will find The Coffee House convenience store, small but incredibly well stocked.
As previously mentioned, The Annexe adjoins Ty Deryn Y Mor and therefore, both holiday homes could be booked for larger families if needed. Please note The Annexe does not accept pets and upholding these house restriction is important to us, mainly due to owner allergies but some of our guests stipulate they prefer pet free homes. By doing so, we are able to offer a holiday home to suit everyone’s preferences.
Having two boys ourselves aged 4 and 7, we appreciate how much space in your car you need to dedicate to the kids! At each of our holiday homes we aim to provide all the essentials for you and your family so you can travel as light as possible.
At The Annexe, we provide travel cot and bedding, baby bath (suitable for up to 6 months), changing mat, potty, toilet seats and steps, highchair, retractable baby gates at the bottom and top of the stairs, a small selection of toys and books and plastic dining wear.
In The Annexe, we also have two green Possum play couches so your littles ones can get creative and build with the pieces, should you need extra ways to entertain them! Outside you will find a trunk with buckets and spades for use during your stay.
We ask all guests to be mindful of noise levels during their stay with us and do not accommodate parties at Ty Deryn Y Mor or The Annexe.
The Annexe is a smoke and vape free home.
The Weber gas BBQ is made available to guests between April through to September and we provide the gas for this.
Between October – March we provide a small supply of logs and kindling for at least 1 fire. Extra supplies can be sourced from most local shops.
We provide all linen and towels (for use indoors), please note we do not supply beach towels.
The steps down to the beach are manmade and exposed, therefore vulnerable to the weather. We try our utmost to maintain them throughout the year but care must be taken and there is no handrail.
The internal staircase up to the mezzanine bedroom is also narrow and with shallow steps, so care must be taken.
We do have one outdoor security Ring camera located between the two properties looking out onto the driveway, this is purely for us to help guests with access if required and also deliveries of e.g. oil
As we use The Annexe ourselves, we have our own bedroom locked for our own use, along with one section of the fitted wardrobe in the master bedroom and cupboard under the stairs in the lounge.
