On the ground floor we have a large open plan fully equipped bespoke kitchen and oversized dining table and benches, with exposed original stone wall and wooden floors. We also have floor to ceiling windows to maximise the views from every angle.
The spacious lounge is separate and has a corner sofa, smart TV and log burner for those colder nights, with patio doors leading out onto the enormous decking. On the ground level we also have a shower room with w/c and walk in shower.
Up the narrow stairs and into the eaves of the cottage, we have two bedrooms with three beds and the main bathroom.
The master bedroom is very spacious with stunning original beams and super king bed. Perfectly positioned to wake up to views of the sea, we opted for luxurious beds with cushioned headboards inviting you to relax and enjoy a lie in, better still to sleep with the windows open to hear the lapping of the waves.
The two remaining king beds are situated on the mezzanine adjacent to the master bedroom. Both beds are the same luxurious cushioned headboard frames, and are separated by a curtain which closes between the two. There is no door to this bedroom, it is open plan.
The main family bathroom is also on the first floor and is home to a walk in shower, free standing bath tub, vanity unit and w/c.
Outside we have an enormous decking with cascading steps down onto the garden. The decking runs all along the beachside of the house and also down the side of the property.
On the decking we have four lounging chairs and footstools along with a wooden dining table with benches, enough to seat six.
Located in the garden, we have a charcoal fuelled BBQ which has been built using stone from the local Anglesey quarry.
There is room for 2-3 cars outside the main house (same for The Annexe).
The famous Anglesey coastal path runs behind the house and so can be accessed in just a few seconds. Church Bay, with the famous Lobster Pot and Wavecrest café are just a short 20 minute walk to reach and The Church Bay Inn pub is approx. 30 minute walk from the house. In the village of Llanfaethlu you will find The Coffee House convenience store, small but incredibly well stocked.
As previously mentioned, The Annexe adjoins Ty Deryn Y Mor and therefore, both holiday homes could be booked for larger families if needed. Please note The Annexe does not accept pets and upholding these house restriction is important to us, mainly due to owner allergies but some of our guests stipulate they prefer pet free homes. By doing so, we are able to offer a holiday home to suit everyone’s preferences.
Having two boys ourselves, we appreciate how much space in your car you need to dedicate to the kids! At each of our holiday homes we aim to provide all the essentials for you and your family so you can travel as light as possible.
At Ty Deryn Y Mor, we provide travel cot and bedding, baby bath (suitable for up to 6 months), changing mat, potty, toilet seats and steps in each bathroom, highchair, retractable baby gate (at the bottom of the stairs only), a small selection of toys and books and plastic dining wear.
We welcome up to two well behaved and house-trained dogs at Ty Deryn Y Mor and whilst we know many dog owners bring their own blankets and bowls, we do have a supply for you should you need them. We also provide spare waste bags and a Mud Daddy and dog towels to wash down your pet after playing on the beach.
We ask all guests to be mindful of noise levels during their stay with us and do not accommodate parties at Ty Deryn Y Mor or The Annexe.
Ty Deryn Y Mor is a smoke and vape free home.
We do not supply charcoal for the BBQ but do supply utensils and cooking racks between April-September.
Between October – March we provide a small supply of logs and kindling for at least one fire. Extra supplies can be sourced from most local shops.
We provide all linen and towels (for use indoors), please note we do not supply beach towels.
The steps down to the beach are man made and exposed, therefore vulnerable to the weather. We try our utmost to maintain them throughout the year but care must be taken and there is no handrail.
The internal staircase up to the bedrooms is also narrow and with shallow steps, so care also must be taken.
We do have one outdoor security Ring camera located between the two properties looking out onto the driveway, this is purely for us to help guests with access if required and also deliveries of e.g. oil
